BRENDA ELIZONDO IS A COUNSEL AT CREEL, GARCÍA-CUÉLLAR, AIZA Y ENRÍQUEZ, WHERE SHE FOCUSES HER PRACTICE ON REAL ESTATE TRANSACTIONS.

Brenda advises national and international real estate developers, investment managers, private equity funds, Mexican REITs (FIBRAs) and other investors in connection with the acquisition, disposition, financing, development and operation of industrial, commercial, mixed-use and hospitality real estate assets in Mexico. Her experience also includes advising clients on cross-border corporate and M&A transactions, including asset and share deals, joint ventures and the structuring of acquisition vehicles, particularly in connection with real estate platforms and portfolios.

She regularly assists clients throughout the full lifecycle of transactions, including due diligence, transaction structuring, negotiation and closing, as well as on the ongoing Mexican legal and regulatory aspects of their operations. Brenda has represented leading real estate developers, institutional investors and Mexican REITs (FIBRAs), including Fibra Prologis, FIBRA Macquarie Mexico, Starwood Capital, Gran Ciudad, Finsa Portafolios and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, in their acquisitions, sales or disposition of Mexican assets, as well as in related development and operation and corporate transactions and strategic investments.

Brenda obtained her law degree from Universidad de Monterrey (UdeM) in 2013, with a specialization in corporate and international law, and her LL.M. in Corporation Law from New York University School of Law in 2017.

She worked as a Foreign Associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis from 2019 to 2020.

Brenda’s native language is Spanish, and she is fluent in English.
