GUILLERMO GOVELA MARTÍNEZ IS COUNSEL OF CREEL, GARCÍA-CUÉLLAR, AÍZA Y ENRÍQUEZ, S.C. IN THE MEXICO CITY OFFICE, WHERE HE SPECIALIZES IN HEALTH REGULATION AND ADMINISTRATIVE LAW.
With a solid background in health regulation and administrative law, Guillermo worked more than 10 years for the Federal Government, particularly in institutions and agencies related to the Health Sector, such as IMSS, ISSSTE, COFEPRIS and in the Ministry of Health where he was appointed as Chief Legal Counsel.
In the private sector, he was Director of Institutional Affairs in one of the country’s largest pharmaceutical distribution companies; he has provided legal advice in the fields of health regulation and administrative law to several private corporations engaged in the provision of healthcare, medical devices manufacturers, dietary supplements and cosmetics corporations, food and beverage industry, pesticides, toxic and hazardous substances, as well as to the pharmaceutical industry.
Guillermo obtained his law degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey in 1996, a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Manchester in 2001, where he was a Chevening Scholar from the British Council, as well as a Master of Public Policy (M.P.P.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2003. In 2006 he obtained a Specialization in Administrative Law at Universidad Panamericana.
He is fluent in English and Spanish is his native language.
