Mauricio is a distinguished legal professional with extensive expertise in civil, commercial, and administrative litigation, as well as in commercial arbitration and corporate restructuring.
He represents clients before federal and state courts across Mexico, participates in arbitration proceedings as counsel, arbitrator, and expert witness, and advises on local and cross-border insolvency and bankruptcy matters, both in and out of court.
The clients Mauricio has worked with include a diverse range of domestic and international entities, many of which are publicly traded and recognized as industry leaders across sectors such as automotive, aviation, banking and finance, construction, consumer products, education, energy, entertainment, hospitality, oil and gas, pension funds, private equity, real estate, retail, telecommunications, and transportation.
In addition to his legal practice, Mauricio has made significant contributions to academia. As a Research Assistant at Columbia Law School, he collaborated with Professor George A. Bermann on analyzing international reports regarding the interpretation and application of the New York Convention. This research culminated in a General Report presented at the International Congress of Comparative Law in Vienna, Austria, in 2014.
Mauricio holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Columbia Law School, where he graduated in 2014. He earned his Licenciatura en Derecho (J.D.) summa cum laude from Universidad Iberoamericana in 2010, receiving multiple academic excellence scholarships and a Testimony of Outstanding Performance from the Centro Nacional de Evaluación Superior.
His educational background also includes specialized programs at the London School of Economics and Political Science and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, Mauricio is admitted to the Mexican Bar and holds dual Mexican and Spanish nationalities. He is an active member of the Barra Mexicana, Colegio de Abogados, exemplifying his dedication to the legal profession.
