Please be informed that today, a resolution of the Council of Representatives of the National Commission of Minimum Wages was published in Mexico’s Official Gazette. Such resolution sets forth an increase of 20% to minimum wages in Mexico, which shall be effective as of January 1, 2023.
In terms of the above, the minimum wages for Mexico in place as of next year will be the following:
a) The general minimum wage will be MXN $207.44 (Two hundred and seven Mexican Pesos 44/100) per day.
b) The minimum wage for the Northern cross-border region will be MXN $312.41 (Three hundred and twelve Mexican Pesos 41/100) per day.
This increase should be considered for the relevant effects, including salary renewals to collective bargaining agreements. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we recommend analyzing each case on an independent basis.
